Wann Stirbt StudiVZ was founded as an independent digital history collective and research journal. Originally documenting the gradual sunset of Germany's iconic pioneer student platform StudiVZ, our mission has expanded to preserve the broader cultural history of early Web 2.0.
Through scholarly monographs, platform teardowns, and digital archaeology case studies, we document how early synchronous chat tools, decentralized web protocols, and personal homepages shaped contemporary human society.
